Hello. Anyone know how to disable the NEW highlight in all apps using 8.1?

Or how long does the NEW stay there?

Totally silent. No fans at all.
For the tile in question, click the tile and open the HP Control Panel and then close it, now check again and the new app designation should be gone. Repeat for other appearances.

Thanks, but ... that has no effect. This is 8.1

I don't mind waiting for them to disappear in time. It's just that there are something like 30 "new" new new new new new new new new new new new new new new new new new !
They remain even after using many times.

Sorry I forgot to mention that I am on 8.1 and I just did a test (again) and it works as I previously described. However, I was testing a functional app and the new disappeared after first use but I think there are many new notices that are associated with text documents (eg, what's new) and I get rid of them as follows:

Right click each non-app notice and select open folder location (bottom). Once there, delete the document in question and the new notice will now be gone. Good luck.

I just noticed that my previous screenshot had 1 new notice left so I clicked the app to start it, then closed it and now the new designation is gone:

Sorry again but I also forgot to mention that once you click on a What's New document after deleting it in the folder you opened, the next time you click on the What's New link, you will be prompted to delet an invalid shortcut. Do that and then the notice will disappear. Its tough to do this from memory only.

I've executed excel maybe 20 times. It's still there! And others... etc etc

It's no big deal... whatever.

Well, I am on 8.1:

Did you try getting rid of the links to the documents via the method I described? If so, I don't have the answer as to why mine works and yours does not. Good luck.
