    Hi,

Thanks a lot. Sorry about the serial number. There are several on the bottom of the computer and that's just the one I thought was the serial number.

    I'll check the link.

    Thank you.

I bought this computer in Taiwan when I was there on business last summer.

That's the reason. It seems that the US and Taiwan separate their customer service support websites. I have to do everything through the Asia TOSHIBA help support.

Where is Nearby Devices on my computer?

Can you type out a step-by-step instructions on how to fix the problem?

    Thanks.
"Nearby Devices" is a mobile phone feature/function ... not on Windows itself.

Hmm ... I'm now not sure if it was enabling 'Nearby Devcices' on my Sammy S4 or maybe it was and ALSO Google Chromecast.

My daughter has a Chromecast that she uses on her TV to cast videos from her phone (another Sammy S4) or PC. I had the Google Chromecast extension installed on my PC for testing. Whenever, she turned the CC on it would create a active power request for SRVNET on my PC. One problem is that even after the CC was powered OFF the power request would stay!!! I had to reboot my PC to get rid of the request. Mind you she has been using the CC for over 2 months without causing these issues!! The SRVNET power request appears to have only started since I installed the MS October patches about 2 weeks ago ... could be just a coincidence though.

I have subsequently removed the CC extension from Google Chrome on my PC and that *appears* to have resolved the issue ... at least, for now.

My mom has a Galaxy S4 with the same OS. But, I think she has that feature disabled.

Has anyone ran across this solution? When you open Windows apps, the apps will close but will run in the background. Hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete, and view a list of running apps or tasks. Close the ones you are not using. Just a suggestion and a question to see if anyone else has came up with this idea.
