Mine has a problem, too, Caper.

It appears that the auto update sends out a power request under 'EXECUTION' showing as xxxxsystem32\svchost.exe (wuauserv) and this stops sleep. Problem is, win 10 doesn't clear this request so no more sleep till you restart.

Event logs\system show the updates being recorded. It is after that my sleep stops.

Can you check this out Caper?

Sometimes, my mom's Windows 8.1 desktop does that. But, most of the time it goes to sleep. It's asleep right now.

Same here. How can you kill it? Turning off automatic updates?

Thanks for that, orbital. Confirms the problem.

No, you can't turn off the automatic updates as that is part of the review deal.

This is now not appropriate for this forum so I intend taking it over to the 'tenforums' site.

Actually I think a Windows 10 fix to sleep (if it exists) is appropriate here and I for one will certainly be following the developments. It appears that there likely won't be a W8 fix and for those who want a sleeping Windows pc W10 may be the only option.

Fair enough, NC, see your point. Will keep this thread updated unless there are objections.

I've created a thread on tenforums! lol

    Windows 10 refuses to sleep

Edit: AT LEAST, now, something is shown when we do powercfg -requests! XD

Yes, the requests screen looks a huge improvement over 8.1. It looks like the power management has undergone a big makeover. Pity about the bug still there! Should be easily fixed, though, surely.
