I guess depending on what you are doing with the computer ,but I turn mine on in the morning ,and turn it back off when I go to work for about 4 hrs ,then on return I turn it back on ,and I may turn it back off if I don't think i'll be using it until later in the evening ,and my sleep works .I just turn it off anyway

Everyone problem seems to be different. Some people say their PC never sleeps but mine does but it stops working after a while and wouldn't work again unless I restart. This KB fixed it for those people experiencing the same behavior. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Indeed, this topic is so huge!!! In fact, the sleep issue we are talking about here is the one who doesn't show anything when you do POWERCFG /REQUESTS.

Every other issue (srvnet, etc) are known issues and they are off topic. And it's about Win 8.1 and no other versions.

After wasting a lot of time on this it turns out sleep has always been working fine. This time I left it when I thought it wouldn't sleep and it stayed on for a while but then eventually went to sleep. Ever since sleep has not given me any problems and I did not do anything.

Is it sleeping after the amount of time you set? Or is it sleeping at random intervals? Seems confusing from your post.

It sleeps more or less around the time I set which is after 5 minutes. Sometimes it stays awake a little longer but eventually goes to sleep.

The gods are smiling on you, Deihmos!

Perhaps you need to shut the machine down, now, and wrap it up, to keep the sleep mode!

Anyway, glad to hear you have a result.

I forget, are you using a local or MS login?

I use an MS login but I don't use the homegroup.

That beats me, then, as I have to use a local login for reliable sleep. (Never used Homegroup).

    Hi,
I have the problem of sleep too since the update of W8 to W8.1 (Pro Version).
The sleep functionality stops to working exactly after 3 hours of activity.

    - I have tried with a fresh install of W 8.1 Pro, same result.
    - Tried with Local account, KO after 3 hours of inactivity.
    - Another MS account, no result.

And I don't know if you have noticed but if you quit your session, the sleep is working again, don't need to restart the computer.

Sorry for my English but I'm French :-)
