The jury is still out ... but it looks like I may have RESOLVED my PC's sleep issue.

Ever since I INstalled the Logitech Setpoint keyboard/mouse v6.61.15 64bit drivers a few days ago my PC has sleep as specified by the power plan. It's been 3 days now.

    Fingers & toes crossed ........

Trying it now. Oh Lord, the apologies I will have to make if it turns out to be a driver issue. Then there will be the confessional and a whole bunch of Rosary prayers for my sins.

With the recent talk of Logitech devices possibly being an issue I decided to try something I hadn't yet tried. I uninstalled my Logitech software, unplugged my WIRED Logitech mouse and keyboard and booted with a generic ps/2 keyboard installed (and no mouse.) I know this isn't the same thing others were talking about with regard to the wireless Logitech stuff, but I wanted to try anyway. I spent several hours yesterday testing and...

No dice. Computer still doesn't sleep appropriately.

I do have a Soudblaster card and know they can be problematic. I haven't tried pulling that card to test yet, and I don't think that'll be anything I do anytime soon. Maybe next time I have to pull the computer apart for something else, but probably not until then.

John, sometime back, when I was working on the NumLock problems (my computer wasn't sleeping then), I updated all my Logitech drivers with no results for either problem.

I guess if the drivers are old enough, they might cause a problem. . . .

When trying to boot Windows 8, it gets stuck at a black screen. I tried automatic repair and refreshing my pc. I need a dvd to refresh my pc which I don't have. I tried bcdboot but apparently the problem is not with the boot process. It seems that the only option left is to reinstall Windows 8...
I don't know if this is a software problem or not, so forgive me if this is the wrong forum to post it on. After much trouble getting Windows Media Player to "see" several music files, I finally was able to burn a CD for use on a common stereo player. All tracks are short because they are simply sound effects for use on stage. I create a burn list of 1Music, 2Music, etc., through 25Music. I end up...
It will sleep when told, as far as I can tell... and it will hibernate if I manually right click and tell it too, So I've enabled hibernate, went into advanced setting under sleep to tell the computer when to hibernate. I set it to what ever time. It refuses to hibernate at the allotted time...
Amazing... I searched for "sleep" here and found the "Windows 8.1 refuses to sleep" thread, which is still going strong after almost 800 posts, talking about the exact opposite problem to the one I'm having! (Now, needless to say, I haven't read the entirety of that thread - yet; could someone...
