Usually on laptops/notebooks, there's a Fn key combo nation that controls the brightness. On my Samsung RV511, it's the Fn key + up/down arrow that controls my screen brightness. Check your notebooks manual for your controls. Otherwise go to control panel, hardware/sound, display and then look in the left pane for adjust brightness....click on that, then look at the bottom for the slider and slide accordingly.

On my Samsung it's not finding the control that's the problem - it's getting the setting to stick. I have yet to figure out what event is putting it back to full bright, but something sure is.

Thanks, the control panel slider doesn't nothing at all not matter the position... the FN keys work as the indicator appears but the brightness won't change at all (stuck at max).

The only thing I can do is to turn off the backlight with fn + F5

Installed every driver/software. My netbook doesn't officially support Win8, neither Intel supports the GMA3150 under 8, so I am using Win 7 software & drivers which appear to work fine.

Everything else works wonderful, it's even faster than 7.
