It probably refreshed your drivers. Make sure to update your video drivers to the most current versions.

Find out what video card you have, and go to the vendors website and download the latest version of their drivers for the Windows 8 CPU version you have (x86 or x64)

Windows installs just the most basic drivers, so check f you can update other ones too so you can have greater control over them. If GPU drivers got changed it's all the chance the other ones were too.

Try this : Run / msconfig.exe / Boot / Advanced options / number of Processor and see if it matches the number of cores. Also Maximum memory and see if that is right too. Happened few times to me that both, Win7 and 8 got it wrong.
Would be nice to know what the rest of your system looks like too.

Hi, For the past month or so, I've been having spontaneous (but inconsistent) BSoDs pop up on this laptop (It's only 2 months old and is a high-end gaming laptop) all with the same error of DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (0x9f). I haven't been able to pinpoint what's been causing it, as I've used a...
This problem seems to happen when I play videos, or games. it doesn't happen every time, but it has happened 4 times in the last week, and started after resolving another BSOD issue, which was apparently driver related. As this seems to happen with games, and videos, I'm thinking it may be...
