Windows 8 Black screen after login

For some reason after I sign into my user on my desktop, A blank screen appears and nothing loads. I tried the avast configuration since I'm using avast but it didnt work. I tried scanning the system in command promp and it says one corrupt ile was repaired... What is wrong with my computer? And how will I be able to fix it since I cant even login right.

When did this start (eg, right after I did what)? How is Avast tied to this issue (Avast configuration)? Uninstall Avast and retest.

I would either post your issue in the Avast 8 users forum or try another 3rd party AV solution at this point. Good luck.

Can you get into Task Manager from the black screen (ctrl-alt-del)? Check your activation using SLMGR.vbs /dlv

I had black screen a while back.
Having 2 antiviruses was part of the problem.
I ended up having to do a refresh.
I had all my exe files, serial numbers, logins & passwords saved on a usb drive.
That made replacing everything pretty easy.
    Not counting 55 Windows updates.
I hope this information is useful.

Yah it's better to only use one AV program - Never put two on one system. Most of them prevent you from installing others, Microsoft Security Essentials use to do that under Windows 7, I had to get rid of it in order to install something else.
