Unplug the power cord (if connected) and remove the battery from the laptop for a few minutes, reinsert it, and now try to boot into your BIOS.

I have an ASRock UEFI capable motherboard and it can be configured to "always boot to windows" and "always deny UEFI access on boot" if you have it configured for the 1 second boot option. To gain access to the UEFI BIOS, one must download and install an additional ASRock utility that can be run in Windows and you can set an option to "boot into UEFI on next restart."

So, maybe Lenovo has a similar utility and maybe it is already installed on your laptop.

Hi python53,

At this point, I really think you would be better served to post your issue at the Lenovo forum in the section for your specific model number because, as I said before, there are others having the same issue as you.
Good luck.

Sorry you couldn't find a solution but I'm hoping all the recommendations have helped you make a decision that you are somewhat comfortable with. Good luck.
