Am getting this really annoying pop up

Recently upgraded to 8 on my main laptop and am getting this really annoying pop up each time I link to a forum email link I don't remember asking for this but each time I block the site with my security another site replaces it.
Also in the forum certain words or phrases are double underlined and highlighted for no obvious specific reason and I want to stop it before I go back to 7 and stay there.
The first to appear were surveys now it is up to stuff as in my pic/s.

Sounds like you have a virus or a rootkit, try TDSSKILLER (Google it) - Also try Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit, both are free and very effective. The way to find out if you have this, is to reboot, open no programs, then open your Task Manager and look fir Instances of IE that are running, these will show up in "Details" because they are hidden. Something latches on to your IE and it runs in the background.

These usually occur when you are on one of those Download websites, like Billionuploads, Dropfiles, sendfiles, etc. You will get a popup that says your Flash is out of date (it isn't), and it you keep clicking on the page it installs some nasty garbage. Sometimes all it takes is one click.

You may also want to run your regular Antivirus, but rootkits like this don't show up in those scans.

Another trick that is rampant on these download sites are "download" links that mimic the exact page that you found which contains the item you are trying to download, the way I discovered it, was because I was looking for a certain iOS IPA package, when I tried to download it, it was an EXE file, which it should not have been. I found out later that a secondary download page had popped up OVER the real download page, it was an exact dupe of my target page- It mimicked my search and even the website where I was attempting the download. When you do a search for a downloadable item, always check and see if there is a second page that looks the same as the original page - The way you can tell is because the fake page is a POPUP, and it therefore is only an IE window with no Menu boundaries around it. Close that one, and then go to the window which is in your IE or Chrome tabs. The fake will not be tabbed, but if it is, it will not have the Menu Bar items on it. This is why I always show my Menu Bar, if I am not seeing my Menu Bar in any page that comes up, its most likely one of these fake popup pages.

Ok XA I ran ADW MBAM SAS TDSS already and my security is Kaspersky which I have set to detect incoming rootkits. ADW came up with some items which I deleted the others found nothing.
The problem has only been here since upgrading to 8. I block the URL in my KISS only to find it pops up a different site.

Actually I have just thought maybe this has something to do with this IObit Start Menu 8 Free download, Bring Start Menu back to Windows 8

Your mention of the iOS IPA sort of got me thinking perhaps it is being sponsored by whoever through that site - I will try uninstalling this tonight and see what happens. It is just I don't like the panels I much prefer the old 7 Start screen.

If it means going to the panel screen then I might just flip back in the drive with the 7 on it - pity cos I like the speed of the 8 OS.

Try Start8 from Stardock....it's free for 30 days then it cost $5...I have it and love it. Or there is classic shell, which is free. Also check your plugins for IE. Also look in your add/remove programs list for anything that you didn't install or that shouldn't be there.

I've seen browser addons doing this before, if you're using a browser that has addons then have a look at what is installed and shut off any you dont know.

I've just had a read of the EULA and I really don't like this

IObit may provide you with support services related to the SOFTWARE PRODUCT ("Support Services"). Any supplemental software code provided to you as part of the Support Services shall be considered part of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT and subject to the terms and conditions of this EULA.
To me that reads - You agree we can install any crap we want on your machine in addition to what you think you are installing.
