File Explorer and Mouse Pointer NOT aligned

How's it going everyone,

I just installed Windows 8.1 and so far so good except for one minor but extremely annoying bug.

Any file explorer window I open is not properly aligning with the mouse pointer. So if I want to click on lets say the C drive, I can't hover the mouse pointer directly above the C drive, I have to hover off to the right somewhere near until I see the highlight occur and than click. Everything seems to be off to the right.

Has anyone else had this problem or know a solution. Thanks!

Thaks for the reply caperjack, I've actually fixed this with an update. But now I need a different kind of help if you have some time.

My internet explorer won't open. I've researched in google and the forums and it all comes back to the same fixes that are not helping. Which is creating a .reg file to stop the dll extensions. I've also read something where it asks to look at the dump file but my C drive doesn't seem to have a local dump folder. I tried looking at my event viewer, and it's not working. I'm currently running an sfc /scannow in the admin cmd prompt to see if anything shows up but i'm out of ideas.

I'm using a laptop HP Pavillion g7

And thanks for the welcome note. Decided to get the preview 8.1 because I figured it would have bugs where this kind of research took place and I'm trying to advance my level of knowledge in computers.

Neither and now my file explorer crashes so I can't open any folder what so ever.

To be honest I think is because In trying to apply fixes found in forums for IE I changes the registry and that messed it up. Is there a way to reset the registry?

. Is there a way to reset the registry?
not that I know of ,unless you remember what changes you mad you could go back and change it back ,there might be a utility tool that could fix some basic changes ,I recall using Norton Utility years ago to do some basic repair . ,you should always do a backup of the registry before making changes
