    explorer.exe glitch

Hello, as you can see I have a problem with my Windows 8. I downloaded the Comodo Firewall which managed to somehow not allow me to open any programs or do anything, so I went into safe mode and did a system restore. After the system restore, I realized that every few minutes or so there's a weird glitch with the desktop. I'll have a Google Chrome window opened up, then when I minimize it, the desktop is a blank purple background with a blank brown taskbar. When opening up folders or the control panel and doing some exploring, the folders/control panel gradually slow down then eventually it will crash. My services and controller app/services.exe seem to be hogging lots of CPU when the glitch occurs. Sometimes a blank brown taskbar will just show up out of the blue over my Google Chrome window or my title bar where all the tabs are will keep flickering as if it's being switched to another application, but it's not, instead it screws over my typing. There's also tons of Windows Problem Reporting processes appearing out of nowhere in the task manager.
(I attached a screenshot of what the glitch looks like)

I have a 64-Bit, 6 GB Ram Lenovo ideapad with an Intel Core i5, don't know if that helps since I'm not a computer expert. Is there a way to fix the problem without having to refresh the system? I really don't feel like downloading all my programs all over again, especially since some of them have a 1 time use license. Thank you!

the glitch is of windows explorer restarting. i think why did you do a system restore ?. instead, uninstalling comodo firewall was also a way. but tell me is comodo firewall still present after the restore ? in both the cases, it might be due to some bugs welcomed in your pc. so, try to do a windows update if that doesn't help you out, you should do a automatic repair.
    hope this helps.

While explorer.exe is relaunching and tripping out, everything still runs smoothly, I can transition to my internet browser/skype/league by doing Alt + Tab still, it's just that the desktop and taskbar are tripping out. So I just did the usual windows button + PrtSc and it managed to take a screenshot.

During this time period try to open control panel & get into Recovery.
And do the earliest restore point.

    or try Advanced Startup.

Yeaaaaahhh, my goal is trying not to lose all my programs haha, but I guess the Advanced Startup sounds like a possibility since it sounds like it won't delete all my crap.

I system restored because it wouldn't allow me to simply uninstall Comodo, and it's gone after the restore. Actually, whenever I attempt to do a windows update, the window just crashes along with the taskbar and my desktop (or it takes way too long to search for updates before it crashes). Doesn't automatic repair require the Recovery Drive CD? I don't think I have one of those. ):

*EDIT* So apparently I'm stupid lol, didn't know the Advanced Startup took me to the recovery thing. Anyways it said the Automatic Repair couldn't repair it. Sad life.

if not this, there might be a conflict with your antivirus & comodo firewall. try uninstalling any one of them & see you have the problem again or not.

Uninstalling a firewall didn't work, so I think I'm just going to refresh or go back to factory settings since nothing else seems to work.
