Recovering my Windows 8 laptop?

I'm having this problem: http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-crashes-debugging/25408-error-0xc0000034.html

Unfortunately, unlike the OP of that topic I don't presently have access to either a Windows 8 installation DVD or any other Windows 8 machine with which I can use to make a startup disk - I'm currently traveling and won't be back home for another 2 1/2 weeks. My attempts at holding Shift during boot or pressing F8/F9 have yielded no results either - it seems that either the BSOD has a higher priority, or UEFI boot is simply too fast.

That said, is there any way I can get myself out of this situation from within my hotel room? I made a backup the night before I flew out as I figured there was a chance the laptop would be lost/stolen so I don't really mind losing all of my data - restoring access to my laptop ASAP is much more important at this point.

What make/model is your laptop?

There may be a recovery partition installed and you may not need any cd/dvd at all to restore to original new status..

Please be complete, on the bottom of the laptop is the complete model number, and not just the prefix.

Do you have access to your data, will the computer still be of use to you being clear of all data/programs you installed?

It's an Acer V3-571-6821. There is a recovery partition, but I have no idea how to access it at this point.

Right now, all I really need is a web browser, Skype, and perhaps the ability to transfer and upload photos from my camera - everything else can wait until I get home.

Its the most insane thing ive ever witnessed..

Looks like the only way to reset your windows without a CD/DVD is to do it from inside windows!!

How does that help if you cant boot into windows?!!

The (alt)(F10) is disabled in windows 8 laptops...

Unless someone else here has a better clue than I, you may have to call ACER and ask them. Or you can have them rush ship you a recovery CD.

When you start your laptop, are all USB devices disconnected?

If you mash down on all keys repeatedly after powering on the laptop you may get the diagnostic screen, which will get you to safemode or recovery screens..

Im sorry I could not be of more help, these new systems seem to not want to be messed with or altered.. Sounds like apple.. :(
