    quickly turn ClickLock on/off

    I currently have a taskbar shortcut to Mouse so I can fairly quickly turn ClickLock on/off when I use Outlook. I need this because I have so many nested folders that it's a real issue if I accidentally move a folder inside another one.

    Is there any way to create the shortcut for just the ClickLock choice?

    Hello Dirty Butter,

    I'm afraid that there's not any easier way to change the ClickLock setting than using the shortcut.

    ClickLock - Turn On or Off - Windows 7 Help Forums

    The only other way is through the registry, but it would be much more complicated since it can affect other settings than just the ClickLock setting.

    ClickLock in Windows 8 is controlled in the registry location below. Note you would only change the data value of the second set of binary numbers when modifying "UserPreferencesMask". The other sets of numbers are for other settings, so this is why there's not a universal on/off .reg file that everyone could use.

    HKCU\Control Panel\Desktop\UserPreferencesMask

    Off = 90 12 07 80 12 00 00 00

    On = 90 92 07 80 12 00 00 00

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

    Thanks for that - when I get adventurous I might give this a try - as I don't like extra clicks if they can be avoided. It would be so simple if Outlook provided a way to lock the folders - searching for it shows others have asked for the same thing.
