Missing Metro Apps and Tiles in Windows 8?

So basically, I was just messing around in file explorer trying to view hidden files and I done something, now most the start menu tiles are gone. I have tried a system restore with no succes. :( The files are not in the start folder either. I checked. Untitled.png

Hello Skitsmeister, and welcome to Eight Forums.

This is going to be a bit difficult since we both don't know you may have done to cause this, but you might open your Apps screen to see if you may be able to just "Pin to Start" any missing tiles if you just unpinned them by mistake.

Hope this may help, :)
Shawn

Thank you but nope, they are not in apps, I remember I was trying to view some hidden files and accidentally I made the folder users and some other folders hidden. But all the folders are back to normal now, just the metro apps are gone. I can still run them, like if I play music it will go in the music app, but at the left side in the recents bar, there is no logo to the music app is that makes sense?

Check to see if you are in a "Temporary Profile" - If you are, we can help you recover your profile.

It usually says so in a Balloon Notification from the Task Bar. But you can also open your Explorer and look in your Users folder. If there is a user named "Temp" then THATs the user who is live now, and you are not even really in your default profile. Check that and let us know.
