I've looked at the Group Policy Search with Azure, but I don't have a clue as to how to find the correct key to add to the Home Group Policy in the registry. I need to get rid of whatever policy is causing this error message every time I try to install Corel's PaintShop Pro x5 in D:\Program Files (x86):

This installation is forbidden by system policy. Contact your system administrator.

This "sounds" like it might be what I need, but I wouldn't dare mess with the registry without being sure.

What version of Windows 8 is installed on the laptop? Home shouldn't process applocker policies, but Professional or Enterprise might.

Yah if ya got Pro you can use GPedit. I don't get it, are you trying to install Azure? You have to install WebMatrix first.

I misunderstood how Azure works. I thought I just used it to find the correct value to add to the registry and then manually edited the registry with that key. Looks like I'm going to have to consider the Corel software I bought as a bust or spend the extra to get the 8 upgrade.

Oh you mean you are looking at the Azure website to check your Group Policy Settings? Thats a whole different deal.

If you are trying to INSTALL Azure, it comes with Webmatrix. But that Site is simply a website yo can use to find the Registry Settings for changing Group Policy Lockouts. If you have any PRO version of 8, you don't need that, you can just run GPEdit.msc.

I was hoping to guess at what value I needed and manually add it. Corel hasn't been any help, so I finally gave up and bought another photo editor - a lot cheaper than buying Pro just for this.
