So where is the "Start" button

    Hi

I have installed W8.1 but cannot find the start button, it is not on the bottom left
and there is no task bar.

    What am I missing?

    cheers

    Hello Daniel,

It sounds like you may still be on the "Start" screen with all the tiles on it. If so, then click/tap on the "Desktop" tile to go to your desktop. You will then see the taskbar on the desktop with the Start button on the left side of the taskbar.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

I like that they added Shutdown to the Start button (right click).

    You're most welcome David.

You might like this if you would like to boot directly to the desktop instead of Start.

    Okay! Thanks

I'll be doing that for sure.

Until I get my touch screen that is.
