I think I mentioned this a long time ago, but cannot find thread. I have just had a Win 8 crash on my pc.

'Your pc encountered a problem' and 'kernel security' is mentioned but no error number. After rebooting itself it asks me to wend problem report to Mickeysoft which I did. It does not occur very often but has approx. 3-4 times now. I was in Facebook at the time trying to reply to a question.

Also take into consideration, using Hiren's Boot CD to check the health of your hard drive after these kinds of crashes. I am going to make this into a tutorial for using Hiren's Boot CD to check your full disk surface. Any time you get a System Freeze or a Blue Screen, it is either caused by a drive that has developed "Read Element Failure" or the freeze/crash itself has CAUSED Read Element Failure. Windows 8 cannot fix this, you have to use external 3rd party drive testing tools.
