There is an icon for it in the Notification Area by the clock. Double click it to change those settings.

Nope!

As per usual, it is not where everyone thinks it is on my computer!!! It's not there by the clock, even if I hit "customize" there's nothing to help me.
Thanks for the try though!!!

But the thing is, when I look at my uninstall programs window it is on there, but it's nowhere to be found on the computer! I even "searched" on every menu I have for it!

You didn't fill in your system specs so one can only guess? Is this an ASUS laptop? If yes is Windows 8 preinstalled or did you install it? If you installed it, did you also install the ASUS Smart Gesture Utility. You also need to install the ATK Package.

EDIT: If its installed it will be in
C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\ASUS Smart Gesture\

I don't see a tile for it on the Metro Start screen or an icon for it in control panel. If there is no ICON in the notifications area it must not be running. My icon for it looks like a touch pad.

The Gestures thing is controlled by an App, if the app is not installed, it will not work. Did you delete the Asus apps that came with the system? If you did, then you will not be able to control gestures from any location, cos you deleted the app which controls them.

Also, Alphanumeric hit it on the nose: the icon looks like a touchpad icon. If ya dont got it, it's either not running or not installed. I believe it loads from the "AsusVibe" app.

For my K75DE its a stand alone utility, ASUS Smart Gesture Utility. You also need to install the ATK Package for it to work.

Out of curiosity I just looked for it on my Asus Zenbook Prime (laptop), and I just have it in my notification area. The lappy came preloaded with Win 8 and though I have some Asus apps, smart gesture isn't one of them.

I can however find it in C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\ASUS Smart Gesture

Clean install of 8 on my ASUS K75DE. Smart Gesture was installed by me. The only place it shows up is the notifications area and add remove programs. There is no Tile for it that I can see. Didn't see anything in Control Panel either. It appears to install and behave more like a driver package than an application/program.

Just to be fair, I think the Asus Smart Gesture thing is neurotic, but I got used to it so if I have to deal with it in the future I know how it works.

It can be annoying if you're not careful when placing your fingers on your touch pad. When I get tired I'll sometimes touch with 3 fingers instead of 2 and get that alt tab screen. I'll get the charms bar sometimes too when I don't want it.

Since I use a mouse most of the time I have it set to disable automatically when a mouse is used. It re-enables once I remove the mouse.

And yes, it is annoyingly sensitive. Don't know how many times I closed a window or switched pages because I went near the mouse pad when typing.

Having it disable when a mouse is used have saved me countless amounts of frustration!
