Storage Space Move??????

Afternoon,

I am looking for help I am currently running win 8 with a pool of drives configured in storage space about 10TB. I want to build a new computer with Win 8 and move the current drives to the new computer without losing the data is the possible?

Yes. You will be able to connect the added drives of a storage space to another Windows 8 computer or new installation of Windows 8 to have that Windows 8 see and use the storage space in it's storage pool as well.

10 GB! Yow! Brink, will the drives configure the new storage space when attached, or is there something that needs to be done first? I can make a 1.5 TB Pool right now, using 2 of my drives, but I already have files on them, so they'll vanish - The System Drive is always left out of the pool, so, will the drives show up as a pool if they re-attach them to a new machine?

If all of the drives from the storage space are connected to any Windows 8 PC, that Windows 8 PC will automatically recognize them as a storage space and have them automatically setup how they were before. All the information is stored on the hard drives in the storage space, so that is what allows them to be recognized by any Windows 8 PC.

Well, sounds good then. and EASY for once. I have had bad times moving raid arrays to different machines.

First off thank you for the replies... But I am a little afraid because I have about 8.5 TB of data that I do not want to lose.

To be extra safe, you could leave the old system intact, build the new system, then connect the storage space drives. If for some odd reason they are not recognized, you could just connect them back to the old system to access them again.
