Random brightness change problem

Dear readers,
i have a smal probleem with My new Acer tablet. The brightness of the screen randomly changes.
i did some googling and i learned the tablet is able to auto adjust the beightness. I found a sensor on My tablet and did some testing by shining on it with a pocket torch and saw with more light the brightness increased. How i want it off. I Tried switching off the adaptive settings bit it didn' t work..
anyone soms advise?

Thanks For your quick response, unfortunately it did't worrk. I had already Tried the first option and the second one didnt wrok either. The service was already turned off. Burt the sensor is stil changing the brightness...

Looking at the link below, it looks like there's a separate setting for this on your Acer tablet. You would want to uncheck the "Display Power Saving Technology" option.

Not always with adaptive brightness.

You could manually set your brightness and dim settings using the features in the tutorial below instead though.

I was just wondering, cos I can adjust the sensitivity of it on my iPhone, so that it never gets any darker than 60%

I Tried the Intel configuration thing but i could'nt find it. I Tried Search terms 'intel' and 'graphics' but both no results.
are tere other ways to switch it off?

You may need to update your Intel video drivers. If you like, you could use the Intel Driver Update Utility to have it automatically find the latest Intel drivers for you.

The Intel Control Screen usually shows up when you right click on the Desktop, in the popup menu. It should say something like "Intel Graphics Manager" or something. I'll check my laptop and see if it has an Intel graphics card... No, I have an ATI card in there.

If you download the latest drivers for the chipset as Mr Brink says, it should show up

Okay, i should download the driver. I went looking wat driver it needed and it said i had to download Intel Graphics gma 3150 or something like that. I went dowloading it but it was only available For win7 (64 / 32x). I run win8 (86x). I Tried the win7 version but it said i had the wrong system requierments.

I also discovered that it wint dim or Brighten the display when its charging.

On a tablet, the display will most likely dim when on battery and stay lit if on AC when charging.

I just ordered an Asus laptop for a friend of mine, it has Adaptive Brightness on it, it does not seem intrusive. I don't know if it is running though- I turned it ON in the advanced power settings, but it shut itself off, so maybe it is not part of the system or is not running for some reason.

Alright my tablet is turning me crazy. Its dimming and brighting so quick its getting hard to read or focus.
It still wont download the intel thing, what do i do?

Just to clarify:

Did you use the Intel Driver Update Utility that I previously posted to see what drivers it says to install?

In addition, when you turned off "adaptive brightness" and "dim the display", did you do so for both "On battery" and "Plugged in"?

Yes, i did all that..

And i get why it wont change when its on AC. When its getting charged a small light shines next to the sensor. And when the sensor spots light the screen brightens op to 100%
