Windows BIOS Icon

Hello Readers,

I have a question about the looks of my BIOS startup screen. I have a relatively new ASUS laptop and i instaled windows 8 on it as soon as possible because ASUS had a free upgrade action.

Everything went well but what i noticed is that when i boot up and the BIOS runs i get in stead of the windows 8 logo with the loading-circle the ASUS logo with the logo circle. Its not annoying or something but i just want the windows logo because i think its nicer.

My friend (a veeeerry clever friend) said it had to do with a BIOS or boot configuration with a ASUS fancy patch switched on. I dont know if ASUS fancy even exists but i just wanted to ask if someone knew how to solve this.

Ans yes ive already tried replacing my bootres.dll file but it wont give me permission to rename the old bootres file and the new file does not contain the windows logo.
I hope someone can help me with this,

Greatings,
Sebas

I do believe that is a result of the UEFI BIOS. My ASUS laptop does it to, even after a clean install with MSDN install media. My two older ASUS desktops with a standard BIOS, no UEFI, don't do it and show the Windows LOGO. I don't know if it is possible to change that.

Mmm...
It doesn't annoy me so its not really something i want to put a lot of work in like re-installing my entire PC or something. I just want a simple configuration change to switch off the ASUS changes in my BIOS or boot.

I haven't seen a BIOS option to switch it or turn it off on my laptop. If I had to guess I'd say its probably in the hidden EFI System Partition. An embedded image in one of the files in that partition. Its part of the boot process so I wouldn't think you could switch it via a Windows setting or reg edit.
