    Browser Problems with Windows 8

Does anyone have a problem with screen popups ? It happens more with Internet Explorer. I can click on a link and a screen pops up most of the time it is telling me to install Adobe Flash Player, but in my Add/Remove Programs its shows that it is already installed. I don't no if my machine isn't recognizing it or what's happening.

I can go to for example: Facebook or a couple other sites and it will have a little screen saying it needs to be updated.... when I tried to update it will just spin like its trying to update but it never does.

I hope my post makes sense. I have a hard time explaining the problem sometime.

    Thanks guys,

    TC

Those are just ad popups and they are super annoying. You should never click the links in those things just close them. If you have windows 8 flash automatically updates so you should never have to worry about that. And any other popup could just be malware.

    Desktop or Metro?

Which version of IE10 are you using (i.e. the Desktop version or the Metro version)?

I'm clueless as far as Desktop and Metro. The Desktop I think is the regular Desktop with the icons like old Desktops. Which mine is IE10.0.9.200.16580, so which is Metro ?

The Desktop version of IE is launched using the icon in the Desktop section (Taskbar?).

I've seen those messages in the past, especially just after I have updated to latest version of Flash.

It's possible that the files/sites you are trying to view are just badly written.
There is an option when you create Flash content, that lets you set the version that is required to run the content.
If that is set incorrectly, it could generate those messages.

OTOH, as Hamnat says, they could just be malware popups trying to trick you.

You could go to the Adobe site to see what the latest version number is and compare it to the one you have installed.
