Hello everyone,

My Windows 8 just crashed, and now all I have is a black screen. The first error that came up was the "ntoskrnl.exe", and after that my computer would't start. I tried everything, like refreshing and restarting the computer. The last thing that I tried to do was to completely restart the computer; I created a new user and everything, but as I logged in windows 8 wouldn't start, and a black screen would come up. My computer is running fine like the mouse and the "ctrl-delete" are also working.

I currently do not have the installation cd's with me, but if there is any way to fix this please tell me. An explanation of what is going on would also be veeeery appreciated.

This computer is only about 4-5 months old, so I'm still under the fabric guarantee. Since a have a Sony Vaio if I take it there will they fix it for me?

Thankyou very much, Gabriel

Find a USB drive that can hold 8 Gigs and download the windows 8 installation file on there. If you have your win8 product key, you can reactivate windows.

Yes your key is your proof of purchase..

If you want to keep your data/personal files intact.

You only want to repair your installation, nothing else..

Yes I know, but like I can only find the link for the "update" installation, not for the actual full Windows 8. If you could send me the link of where I'll be able to download it that would be great!

Microsoft used to have links to it, now it seems they only have ugrade links, but heres another source.

Youll want the 64 bit to take advantage of 4GB+ ram

OMG you can only download it from microsoft if you are an MSDN subscriber, so you'll have to register to have access..

It appears that MS moved its location to break all external links to it...

So either subscribe (which is most likely free anyway) or get it from torrents.. untouched iso, you dont want a patched or cracked version.

All I see is ENTERPRISE edition, I dont understand why its so difficult to type something and find it, they always show you what you DIDNT type..

Im battling allergies, cant look for it right now, but wanted to point you in the direction, sorry.. Ill check again later

Thankss haha, I'm in my vacation time right now. I believe i have the installation cd's; I just don't have thme right now but I need it. Considering I download the torrent will that be illegal, even though I will use my actual serial?

Well, morally, it would be "legal" because you had purchased Windows 8 before. However, you're going to need to somehow deactiviate your current key if possible. If now, use the same key (it will let you install, but will say windows is not activate" then contact Microsoft and they can help.

Legal-wise, you are not buying disk, software or anything but license to use it. As long as yo have that and abide by terms it doesn't matter where you got the software from. Slowly everybody is moving to the media-less software selling and renting too, witness Office 365, going right in that direction.
