Good point Vadim. I forgot about that. It's most likely the cause if a Microsoft account is being used.

It would be the "Other Windows settings - File Explorer, mouse, and more" sync setting that can be turned off.

Yes, this is it, Shawn. In fact, it syncs most Explorer settings (not folder views, though) + Quick Access Bar. Pretty handy, but annoying when you experiment on a VM

Hey guys, looks like it happened again. And I have no idea why. I've done nothing out of the ordinary, haven't installed the most recent Windows update yet and have not installed any new software. This is driving me nuts. It has to be something I'm doing since nobody else is having this issue, but I have a fairly regular routine with this PC and it doesn't happen extremely often. I'll have to keep a closer eye on it and try to figure out when it's happening so I can figure out what's triggering it.

In addition, make note of anything that you have set to run on a schedule as well to see if one may be a cause.

Will do, Brink. I do have file history on, backing up from one internal drive to another automatically. I hope to catch it early enough so I can dig through event viewer and find out exactly what is causing this.

Thank you for your continued help.

And it strikes again. Doing nothing out of the ordinary, OTHER than downloading and updating Trillian messenger, and deleting aMSN. This is driving me nuts.
