I am looking for people to review a description of Windows internals for the forthcoming new edition of my Operating Systems textbook. The current edition has a 33-page description of Windows 7 internals. Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to carefully read all or as much as you are willing to of the current description to check for needed revisions for Windows 8, technical errors, missing topics, and typos. In return, you will be acknowledged in the Preface and receive a free copy of the book when it comes out early 2014. I would need feedback in about 6 to 8 weeks.
This is a technical rather than a user book, so you need a technical background on Windows 8 internals. Topics covered include overall architecture, process/thread management, concurrency mechanisms, memory management, process/thread scheduling, I/O management and file management.
