Problems with the button icons

So basically since I got my computer 2 weeks ago the button icons for just about everything are off. When I press ctrl+alt+del, all the button icons are just squares. Same with the search button. I also noticed I couldn't open any apps besides the desktop. Is this something I have to do a factory reset for or is there another way. I would prefer NOT to do a factory reset. Thanks!

If you can open an Administrator command prompt try running sfc /scannow.

Then run: Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

DISM might take up to an hour to finish.
Be patient.

Post back with whether the scans helped or not.

Here is what came up when I did that.

RIGHT= Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

You put the slant in the wrong place. It goes before the O:

WRONG= Dism/ Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

A simple mistake. :)

It just says that the operation was completed successfully. Though no changes were made, nothing fixed.

Unless anyone has a better idea, it might be time to reset to factory specs.
