This is intentional for a few reasons.

One, it's not nice to have an app on your Windows Phone simply blown up to a larger screen. The app has to be redeveloped for screen estate and size considerations.

Second is the fact that Windows Phone doesn't have the system contracts bar, or Charms bar, so that can't simply work that way.

Third is that the code itself is different, Windows 8 uses WinRT code, Windows Phone I believe uses the WinPRT coding structure, Xbox One I think uses WinXRT code. These are similar, but different.

The Pandora app probably won't come to Windows 8 anytime soon because... It's called a web browser. This is the thing about Windows 8 is that most developers probably aren't and shouldn't develop app versions of websites. It makes no sense to have a PC that uses typical Desktop web browsers, that have no settings of changing the site from being mobile or Desktop rendered, to have an app for ebay, or Amazon, or Pandora, or Facebook.

Also, who are you directing this at? We're not Microsoft.

The word "Microsoft" would be in the URL of the website. :geek: It's alright though!

But apparently though, Microsoft is hoping to make coding between the different platforms very easy than it is already. It's already possible to take a Windows Phone 8 app and recode it within a few weeks to have it run well on Windows 8. MetroTube for example (best youtube app out there on ANY platform, strongly recommend downloading it for Windows Phone and Windows 8) announced a month ago they were releasing a Windows 8 app. Literally in about two weeks, it was already published in the Windows Store. Weave, a very excellent news reader app on Windows Phone, announced they're working with the MetroTube developers in releasing a Windows 8 app version of it. USA Today also have Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 apps. There are several other apps from Windows Phone that have made to Windows 8 because of that ease of recoding.

You just need to keep a lookout of what apps from Windows Phone are making it to Windows 8. One simply cannot take a Windows Phone and blow it up to a larger screen, the User Interface needs to be changed to adapt to the screen among other things.

By the way, what Windows Phone do you have? :)

Nightseeker,

Whilst it is quite possible to run phone apps on other format devices, with Android and IOS it's possible to install phone apps on a tablet, but any hard coding of the graphical elements cause the user experience to be less that ideal - a tiny amount of data in the middle of large blank screen.

As the difference between the average phone screen and the average PC screen is even greater that the average tablet, Microsoft has, I believe, purposely separated the two store's to provide the best user experience on both platforms, there is also the difference in system architecture between windows phones and PCs to be considered, this is not a factor on Android and iOS as the same OS runs on both tablet and phone.

As has already been said, as the market broadens more phone apps will be re-coded for Windows 8 on PCs

Ido plan on whitching but was going to wait to see what they have and when they will come out with a good one that will get my eye more then the 928 nekia or whatever its called lol . thanks you for the info I though it would be easy but I guess takes more codes then what I could think of .
