Windows Button

I have yet another quick question. Often when I search for how to do something, I read in the instructions about pressing the WINDOWS button plus some other keystroke.

This is going to sound stupid, but perhaps for a reason. What is this WINDOWS button? Is it on the keyboard? If that is the case then my problem is that I bought my new pc in Slovenia but maintained my old keyboard from the UK, as Slovene keyboards are different. Is that why I don't have a WINDOWS button and if so is there a way round this?

Hello Adelein, and welcome to Eight Forums.

The "Windows" button/key is a general term to either press the Windows :winkey: key on your keyboard, or to click/tap on the hidden Windows button (see image below) on the far bottom left corner when you hover the pointer over it.

The Windows key or button opens the "Start" screen when pressed. If you like or needed, you could use the shortcut in the tutorial below for this as well.

UK keyboards will almost certainly have a SUPER button. Also known as the windows button.

It will be in between the ctrl and alt keys at bottom left of the keyboard.
