    Please help....

Please can anyone help me. I'm alone & going completely insane with windows 8. In addition to loads of other problems now I have one BIG problem as I seem to be completely locked out of my PCM. I'm typing this from iPad. I had been working fine all day on PCM then went out so turned it off. When I got home I couldn't log in I knw the password was right but anyway I reset it. I can access my Microsoft account fine on iAd but still not on desktop. I've been reading various forums about what to do but they all say I need to burn a cd from another PCM. Well what if I don't have another PC? What on earth can I do? I have some urgent translating work to do & can't get into my PC pls pls can anyone help?

With Hiren's Boot CD, you can break in to any Windows XP/Vista or 7 account using Offline Password Reset. I've never tried it in 8 but the system is similar - Give that a shot. You can put Hiren's Boot CD onto a USB drive if you don't have access to a Burner, but if you have a friend that can burn the disk for you, the link to the disk image is in my sig, below the Fringe Pic.

Don't know if the password reset will work with a PCM - is is Windows 8 RT or regular Windows 8? Search Google for Windows 8 Offline Password Reset- I'll do the same.

Can you please tell us the specs of your machine and what system it's running? The more detail the better.

Good i - She can just use the Offline Password Reset, it's pretty universal.

Yes, but I find it odd that one moment it worked and the next it's not. He/she said the account could be accessed using the ipad. If the network connection has gone bad, the password would still work. But it doesn't. Something else is going on here.

If it is a Skydrive/Microsoft account you could be right - But you can still wipe out any local passwords that may have been set using Offline Password reset. She may have set a local password which does not match the login password. Wipe out any existing passwords, and the remote password will may work.
