Restoring Win 7 files to Win 8

How can I restore my backup data files to Windows 8 that were created using Backup & Restore under Windows 7?

Ztruker, if you have Windows 8, try and see... It'll find in the Control Panel the legacy Windows Backup features left for cases exactly like this one. You can still use them, but legacy file backup and new File History are mutually exclusive.

I use Start8 to have a Windows 7 like Start menu so Win+W just takes me to a Metro screen with some tiles.

I understand about Windows 7 backup though, it's called Windows 7 File Recovery in the Control Panel, thanks.

Well, I had no way of knowing that some third party stuff prevents standard control panel search on your PC And yes, Windows 7 File Recovery is the correct name, but the query in bold does find it anyway.

I guess that's one of the drawbacks to using a Start Menu add-on. Good to know though, thanks.

    Sorry About Delay

    Hey guys,
I've been called off to another job and not been able to pursue this solution. I apologize; should be able to get back this week sometime.
