    A number of issues

Having been involved with beta win95 to Win 8, never had any real issues until now in dealing with issues.

I an denied access as adim to various files and folders that I can not delete them considering I made them.

invalid register access to photos when I try clicking then that none of the recommendations work to allow me access to them other using a program.

I had a game that work find from day one 6 months ago that it disappear. Try reinstalled the game and end up being a error trying to run the game. Go to uninstalled it, cannot be found with any uninstall programs including win 8. I see part of it in the program folder.

I had an icon of Regedit on the desktop and disappear also and cannot be found.

When to used Regedit that was download, it refused to allow me to remove the info.

Have lost all sound. Done driver update with it saying current ones are current and even going to the board site. They say the drivers are working.

If I try to do a win8 repair, it said the drive is lock

I am getting ready to strip the system and reinstall Win 7 pro since I had no real issues with it.

Even some of the win 8 update fail to install as well.

What do I have to do to deal and fix these issues??

I hate the fly out menu on the right as it will come out when I don't want it or refuse to come out when I need it. It more of a pin now than during the beta testing.

    Thanks

What version of Windows 8 is this, and was it any kind of Beta version? I can't imagine how your system got locked down like that.

Usually, stuff like this can be fixed by resetting the permissions for all fines and folders on the drive, there is a Program called "D7" that has a utility to do this, it takes maybe an hour to reset all the permissions.

It could also be you obtained that virus that "hides" all of your files and folders, and maybe when restoring the -h attribute you got messed up, maybe those folders you made got hit with a +S (system) attribute which would make it not be able to be changed.

I'd try D7's "reset permissions" - There are also a few scripts you can find what can to it too, its a VB script, resets all attributes back to normal.

If none of that works, THEN I'd wipe the drive and re-install

I felt I would have to do a full rebuilt when I asked this question.

It was the full Win8 Pro and no beta on the drive.

I had issues installing it before and have the id number after it was validated

While reinstalling the system, the drive die. Drive less than a year old.

After installing the system on the new drive, cannot validate the system. What do I need to do to get it validated to the validated number I have??

Also, the updates for the system fail and most likely due to not being validated, if not another issues not seen before.

Never had to rebuilt a window system under 18 months in the past, yet doing 6 months after installing pro. No issues during the beta testing, but whoa with official release.

    What is my next step???

If your hard drive was replaced, thats a major cause of the activation failing. If you bought the Windows 8 disk, then Microsoft should give you a new activation by Phone, if all of the automatic validations do not work. Just call them on the phone when activating, they'll give you a new key and Bobs your uncle.

When you say it won't validate do you mean it fails the Windows Genuine Validation or it won't activate or both? Where did you obtain your copy of Windows 8 from? Replacing the hard drive and then reinstalling shouldn't cause Windows to fail activation. If you bring up the Start screen and type regedit it should search for it and list it in the search results. You can also start it from the run command.

I agree, usually replacing a HD won't matter, but on rare occasions I had to re validate.

What is he looking for in Regedit, the activation, where would that be? Better specify, I'd like to know too- I've never looked for the validation status in Regedit.

A lot of the problems he describes say to me "infection" and or a compromised system. When things like regedit are gone and hidden from sight its usually because something doesn't want you to have access. That something is usually bad. On the other hand, messing around in the registry, especially if you don't know what you are doing can mess things up really bad too. Either way at this point if that PC was sitting in front of me I'd be recommending doing a clean install.

Or a script, either way his system is more than likely compromised.
