I had a problem with one of my puters which used a USB Wifi adapter dropping all the time. Eventually it started to stay connected. yah there may be more people in Networking who know more about why it does this.

Recently lost my Windows 8 on my main PC, had to go back to Windows 7.
If you have multiple wireless networks then it may be jumping to a "preferred" connection whenever you momentarily lose you main connection. Go to properties of the network you want to use the most and make it your preferred network. And check the properties of the connection it keeps going to and unselect "always connect to this network when in range"
