File Search Not Working

I have a folder in dropbox with sub folders and in those folders are many .txt's.

e.g. Dropbox/Folder1/File1 - KEYWORD.txt

BUT when I go to Dropbox and run a search for *- KEYWORD.txt it shows absolutely no results.

Under Search Options Tab I have:
1) Enabled search in sub folders.
2) Allowed Partial Matches.

Any ideas on how to find all the KEYWORD.txt files in the sub folders?

Hi

1) It uses to work with those paramaters.
2) I tried the one in quotes and it didn't work. I even tried *.txt and it returned no results at all and there are hundreds of txt's.
3) Even in a root directory where I can actually see the .txt files and enter in *.txt it returns no results.
4) Same as above but if I use a folder name, also no results!

Any ideas??

Regardless of the index, the search looks in paths, so *.txt should work.

1. Does it work in other folders?
2. Does it work in safe mode?

1) No. Doesn't work at all, in any folders. Even if the folder is full of .txt's it can't find them!
2) How do I enable this and why would safe mode make a difference?

See here. It may not a make a difference, but it'll help eliminate 3rd party factors.

Copy and paste the sequence of commands and responses from a Command Prompt window.

For instance, for me it looks like:

Code:
C:\Windows\System32>cd "C:\Users\xxxxxxxxx\Dropbox"

C:\Users\xxxxxxxx\Dropbox>dir *.txt /s
Volume in drive C is Win_8
 Volume Serial Number is 3400-1036

 Directory of C:\Users\xxxxxxxx\Dropbox\Public

Hi

When I do the cmd prompt in one of the folders and do the whole dir *.txt/s

It lists all the .txt's files all the sub directories.

It seems like a Windows 8 setting or something?

I just tried it. Created a Dropbox/Public/File1 - KEYWORD.txt.

Then I searched for *- KEYWORD.txt and it found it with no problem.

I have not made any changes to Windows 8 search.

That's the point! I can't work out why it's not finding it! It works on 3 other PC's of ours! Anyways...I well just give it some time and see how it goes.

Waiting won't change anything, and so is ignoring troubleshooting suggestions (posts 4,6).

I have done the troubleshooting as per posts 4,6. That's the issue. I figure it's some strange setting. I'm using another program to handle search for moment.

If you have done this, you should post the results clearly. Mind readers are scarce.
