[Help] How to Unattach a file from any Program?

Hi, I'm having some trouble fixing it

I want to make windows to stop open SRT files Using notepad
I do not want windows to be able to open SRT files I wish it will be unkonwn file
and be unattach to any program

how can I do that?

Download FileTypesMan - Alternative to 'File Types' manager of Windows, unzip, right click and run as administrator, click to hi-lite .SRT extension, Edit->delete Selected Extentions.

This will make .SRT an unknown file type and dis-associate with all programs. However, if you double click on it, Windows will prompt you to pick an app to open with. This is Windows feature and you cannot change this behavior.

The simplest way is to associate a different default program to it that will not be able to open it at all.

Right click the SRT file>>> Open With (check "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" on lower left) then click "Browse" on lower right and assign any program that will not be able to open it.

SRT files are subtitles? Assign them to VLC. Or tel VLC to automatically load Subs when the media starts.
