I just noticed that when I go to the Power Options that the options are missing. It says the Power Plan is missing or unavailable or something such. One answer said to do a refresh or reset of Windows 8. Isn't that a bit drastic? Is there no way to do it by tweaks. I did that refresh once and lost more than I thought I was supposed to.

This is on a HP Pavilion desktop, about 4 months old. Thanks Jack ":-\\

Might be more friendly than a refresh, gives you several options as well...

Thanks Geeve420! I resolved this by going back about 10 restore points. It corrected and the only thing it reported on the desktop as being removed was Openoffice. I don't know if that was the culprit because a recent reinstalled of Google was undone too. However, I have the settings back and as I re-installed openoffice and google I will check to see if I have my Power Options. Thanks again! jack ":-D
