    Windows 8 Power Options gone?

I just noticed that when I go to the Power Options that the options are missing. It says the Power Plan is missing or unavailable or something such. One answer said to do a refresh or reset of Windows 8. Isn't that a bit drastic? Is there no way to do it by tweaks. I did that refresh once and lost more than I thought I was supposed to.

This is on a HP Pavilion desktop, about 4 months old. Thanks Jack ":-\\

Thanks Geeve420! I resolved this by going back about 10 restore points. It corrected and the only thing it reported on the desktop as being removed was Openoffice. I don't know if that was the culprit because a recent reinstalled of Google was undone too. However, I have the settings back and as I re-installed openoffice and google I will check to see if I have my Power Options. Thanks again! jack ":-D

For some reason Windows 8.1 power options got really screwed up. First I tried to create a new plan (didn't mess with the default schemes, just changed some of the "Economy" settings), but couldn't, got this error: "Your power plan information isn't available. Access is denied." I found...
