    All apps tile control

Does anyone other than me think this would work for controlling the All apps screen?
It's nothing more than our Programs folder on the screen with all subfolders displayed.
Like others, I think we should have an option to have them all collapsed into the title bar. Or to pick which ones we want pinned to the All apps board. As well as the Start screen.

    In example below

    1.- I showed a customized All apps

2.- then installed Microsoft Works which gave a popout

3.-clicked the title bar made choice to pin Word Processor & Spreadsheet to Start screen & Not to hide them on the All apps screen

4.- Shows those 2 programs plus a tile saying 4 more programs available (Get Started, Database, Calendar & Portfolio)

Yeah, that would make the "Apps" screen more user friendly.

    Looks like a great idea!
I pulled all my help files/read me files/link files and put them into a separate folder somewhere else; really cleaned up the 'All Apps' screen.

Thanks for your post. You shared enough information for me to delete the unnecessary shortcut tiles.

I tried adding a folder in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft Works with a 4 on it and labeled More Available but it didn't work. Oh well at least it's cleaned up now.

Hi I am not sure if this belongs on this thread and I have seen possible solutions but I don't know if they are what I need for my issue. I have a Windows 8.1 Desktop (HP) and not an upgrade from Windows 8 (I don't think so at least). Every so often I can not open the tiles. Instead it tries...

Okay, so I don't have this problem anymore. Well, last night, I had noticed that there was no desktop tile and if I typed "desktop" on the start screen there was no app for it Also, "Change PC Settings" wasn't starting. My guess is that it did that because I had a really hard time uninstalling a...

No Control Panel in Apps with Metro UI Good People and others, When I search Apps either by scrolling or typing in the Apps search box, I do not have a Control Panel. The tut from Shawn shows one but I sure don't have one. I have a Control Panel when I select Desktop.
