There's no code involved here. Just the path of the folders. What I am trying to tell you is:
C:\Users\Medab 1\Favorites is referring to the Favorites in IE10, not from the Favorites of the Navigation Pane. They are different !!!

Sure, there's a lot of ways to accomplice the same thing but what I did was to answer directly to the OP. He wants the default to be the Favorites from the Navigation Pane instead of the Libraries. Of course, you can create a shortcut then pin to task bar but it would occupy an extra space on the task bar and not to mention that you have to save that shortcut somewhere to be able to pin it to the task bar.

The easiest solution I could have given is to download pin to 8 and use it: WinAero: Pin to 8.
Run the program, select Pin Special Item then select Favorites. You can pin anything up to your content. But that was not the question he asked.

    Cheers !!!

I just found this forum and implemented the solution given by Brink on page 1.

It works - but only sort of: It opens to Favorites, technically, but puts me all the way at the bottom of the tree on the left-hand pane, below Homegroup, Computer, Network and everything else.

I've come up with a partial fix by clicking Details to make the right-hand pane sort of show what Favorites normally shows on the left, but I don't know if this will stick.

UPDATE: It sticks until the next reboot, then has to redone.
