Hello,

So yesterday my computer was working fine, then when I went to sleep, I let Deluge run to download a couple TV shows and set up a timer to shut down my computer (with Shutter).

This morning, I turn it on, boots normally (to the desktop) then a few moments later, I would get automatically signed out. Weird, so I try to sign back in, and I get sign out almost instantly again. I tried rebooting, same thing.

Also, on the second reboot, I noticed a HomeGroup shortcut on my desktop, but then it disappeared a few seconds later.

I'm on Windows 8, using Skip Metro to boot to desktop and using that trick to bypass the log on screen, if that matters.

Also, I've noticed each time when I'm about to get signed off, sound when a USB has been disconnected plays.
I did run sfc /scannow yesterday and it said it was going to fix something on reboot. You guys think this could've changed something?

And, all I installed yesterday was Notepad++, I don't think that should be the issue though.

I'm not sure what to do next.. I'm hoping you guys could help me out!
Thank you for reading.

Edit: I had time to switch to safe mode boot in msconfig, but now I noticed there isn't an option to perform a system restore within safe mode?
