    That's what I thought Noel, the email I got told me the RMA number plus how to prepare your parcel, which as I said I didn't have to do anything special. That came with an attachment which was the end user repair service agreement, it was headed Asus UK.

    No 4 said that once the defective system is received by Asus consigned carrier ASUS will ensure that the PC System is repaired and re-delivered back to the Customer within seven working days, counting from the day of pickup, if the required spare parts are available immediately and are in stock.

    Fingers crossed I'll be able to mark this thread solved tomorrow. Got a text about 4.30pm to say my parcel will be delivered tomorrow the 19th, just been to my emails and got one telling me my order will be with me tomorrow, thank you for ordering from Asus.

    Nothing to say this was a repair or what they'd done just that it was an order.

    Joan that's incredible! Asus turn around time is less than one week in the UK? I wonder if they just exchange those books and send off the defects to the bin to get recycled.

    Well I have my Notebook back and according to the paperwork they replaced the mainboard, which I take is the motherboard, all my stuff is still on the machine as I left it.

    I take my hat off to Asus for such a great service, got in touch with them last Monday explaining the problem the unit got picked up Wednesday and I got it back this lunchtime with a new mainboard in place. The line on the sheet said, "Your product has been cleaned and tested in all functions before being returned to you."

    I'm going to check the place out online but they are called LetMeRepair UK Limited, and are in East Kilbride, they use DPD as their courier.

    I'm very impressed with the friendly helpful service of both.

    I will mark this thread as solved now.
