You keep talking about touch meece and touch screens. I have neither and do not intend to get them. I want easy operation on a normal PC - the type that a Billion people or more have.

    I don't want a normal PC.

I don't find gestures to be all that interesting. Besides, I wouldn't need the gesture for the damn charms bar, if there wasn't a damn charms bar. A proper touchpad is about as exciting as a new box of paper clips.

I understand what you are saying. Most people don't use Metro on the PC anyways. MS probably is trying to push it forward so that they can make everyone download the software through Windows Store which gives them a cut from the app sales. In 8.1 although the enhancements we've seen are all Metro related, addition of more split screen modes mean that they are actually trying to get us desktop users to use the metro environment more. They'll have to do much more than that to get us use Metro though. Offering apps that do less is not going to help.

You still have the confusion about the names Windows RT and Windows 8, RT should never have had Windows in the name.

If you find that a touchpad on a laptop is nothing more than moving a mouse pointer, that's a real simple life you lead. You're really missing out on the enhanced interaction with the software...

I can go minimize ALL my windows on the Desktop quicker than hitting Show Desktop. I can then open what window I want doing the opposite gesture in a neat app picker view. Switch from the Desktop to a music app quicker than you'd think.

A PC without touch gesturing is pretty much as exciting as a box of thumbtacks.

I think I'll go and feed my mouse - but not with thumbtacks.

It looks like the mice are killing off the touch PC.
