How to make a URL into custom text here.

I figured General Support would be a good place to post this tiny tutorial.

Below you see the URL link & the custom text link which takes you to the same place.

See this picture for the code used to do it:

I just put the sites in my favourites and rename them? This is this one in my list, for example

Good idea. I have a word document on my MacBook Pro containing links. Funny, most times they work when I paste them into the forums, but sometimes they don't. They never work from my Win machines. I haven't really tried to figure out what makes them work only most of the time from the Mac and never from a Win. I'm just to lazy I guess. One thing though--they always work when clicked from within the word document on the Mac (never from the Wins). Oh well, so little time so many problems to solve. I am working on the death of the oceans today.

This is a test with the image in your post.
Hopefully the image will be a clickable link.

    I remain confused -lol.
My "image", was just that, to indicate how I renamed the URL (to this site) shortcut to something more understandable. With about five Windows 8 sites, all very similar in URL context, I needed to make it simpler.

I was testing making clickable links from images & custom text.

It seems you were making custom icons or favicons.

I have done that myself to make favorites easier to use.
