    Total time of MP3 tracks

Hi guys can I please ask for a little advice please.

I have just upgraded to Windows 8 Pro, and I have a small problem.

When I was using windows 7 I was able to select a bunch of MP3 tracks In windows explorer and at the bottom windows displayed the total size of the selected tracks and the total playing time of the selected tracks.

But now with windows 8 I get the total file size but not the total playing time, is there anyway I can get this back please.

    Regards

Best I could come up with is to right-click the selected files, go to properties, then to the details tab, and the total play time is listed cumulatively for the selected files:

    As a general rule, a 128Kb/sec MP3 file is 1MB per minute. e.g. a 3.5 min song would be 3.5MB.

    Hi there
try free MP3tag. You don't have to re-tag anything but gives good info (as does Winamp --another decent program - although Winamp is a media player while mp3tag is purely a tagging program).

    Mp3tag - the universal Tag Editor (ID3v2, MP4, OGG, FLAC, ...)

Here's what it displays -- note I usually have everything in FLAC - but it gives the same info for mp3 etc.

    Cheers

In File explorer, detail view, right click the title bar and put a tick on Length. No need for 3rd party program.
Any other info you need, just put a tick on it. See screen shot

    Hi topgundcp, jimb045, Phone Man,

thanks for the advice I appreciate your advice but I have been able to show the length of the MP3 files by adding another column and that gets me the length of the Mp3 file as you point out.

But it does not give me the total playing time of several Mp3,s files

I am trying to select several Mp3 files and then see what to total playing time is for the selected files if possible

HI there Some of you might have some .CUE files where you wish to recover the original individual tracks. This method will also work if you have .APE files too. You need the image file (.APE or .FLAC plus the associated CUE file). I've some old music in .CUE and less but some in .APE where I...

After much trouble getting Windows Media Player to "see" several music files, I finally was able to burn a CD for use on a common stereo player. All tracks are short because they are simply sound effects for use on stage. I create a burn list of 1Music, 2Music, etc., through 25Music. I end up...
Hi there a useful bit of free software if you want to re-assemble a single FLAC / APE file containing a CUE file into its original tracks (with track titles etc). Some of you might still have (or come across) music as a single CUE + FLAC or APE file - particularly if you are getting some lesser...
