After HP Update, Norton and Chrome disabled

Hello, our HP laptop just ran a HP update last night, and now the system will not open Norton or any sites in Google Chrome. If, for example, I open google chrome, it posts a Sending Request. . . message at the bottom of the screen, but does not go anywhere. Norton's icons are unresponsive. We have rebooted the system multiple times. Any ideas, Obi Wan?

Hello Kris, and welcome to Eight Forums.

You could do a system restore at boot using a restore point (if available) dated before the HP update was installed to undo it and hopefully fix this for you.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
