Hi there
I've just installed Foxit PDF reader -- It works fine -- now am uninstalling Adobe pdf reader.
Don't know whats up with adobe these days --if I could find a decent alternative to Photoshop I would --Note the GIMP is fine but I NEED photoshop unfortunately --it's still the best out there in spite of Adobe's messing up the latest releases of its software.

Cheers

I've used Foxit reader, but it wasn't totally compatible with Adobe Acrobat created PDF files, but in most cases it sufficed quite well. As for Photoshop replacements, there are a few others available and PaintShop Pro is not a bad alternative, though when Corel bought it out initially, it completely stuffed things up. I understand that it's fixed a lot of update issues etc in that time and it's leagues cheaper than Photoshop.

Hi there
the latest stuff allows you to skip all the toolbar thingy's. Your other PDF reader Sumatra looks good too.

As far as photoshop is concerned I got a license from work -- but at home I use the CS2 version that Adobe made available for use FREE without needing serial numbers -- it does everything I need -- apart from 3-D which for photos I don't need and still supports most DSLR cameras. - In any case for RAW camera files not supported you can always use the Cameras own software to convert the RAW file to TIFF and then use the older version of photoshop.

For those that want to use CS2 (current version BTW is CS6 but CS2 will give you pretty well everything you want and is a great learning tool) . Adobe has de-activated the activation servers on this product.

What I grew do dislike about FoxIt was that years ago, they gave you an option to install a toolbar and you could uncheck the box. In later versions, you not only had to uncheck the box, but you had to read the next screen carefully which appeared to be a license agreement, but it said, "if you click yes to agree you will install Foxit AND the Toolbar that you just unchecked on the prior screen". You had to actually select NO and then you would get FoxIT without the added Toolbar. It was a shady move to trick people into installing that toolbar.
