Sorry if this sounds rather old but i recently clean installed windows 8 to my pc and now i get a kernel data inpage error when i start up. The pc has to restart for me to log in successfully. please check the dump file and help me. I love windows 8 and going back to win7 is not an alternative.

I am using InsydeH20 rev 3.5 F.48 bios my chipset is AMD 1705 rev 0: steps for an upgrade to UEFI are most welcome.

you have included 2 dump files. 1 indicated there's Memory Corruption, the 2nd one indicated BSOD caused by Volmgr.sys.
From the information given I suspect that somewhere along the line, your hard drive has failed.

I suggest you boot the Windows 8 then open the elevated command prompt and run chkdsk c: /f /r.
After chkdsk has finished, again open elevated command prompt and run: sfc /scannow

Please report back what you find.

Yes, chkdsk c: /f /r will take some time depending on the disk capacity.

/f will fix any error on HDD
/r will mark all bad sectors on HDD so Windows will not use them

I suggest you go thru with this. Let it run over night

could you also suggest where i will get latest firmware for my machine?
I don't follow what you mean by this. What firmware are you talking about ? But whatever you need updated, you need to go to HP website support.

For BIOS Update, you'll need to go to HP support site for your PC Model.

  1. If chkdsk was able to repair it, then proceed with sfc /scannow
  2. If chkdsk cannot repair the error then you have no choice but to replace it.
