My PC wont Boot! :(

Hey guys im very sad because my pc wont boot.
Iv got a custom PC running 2500K CPU

It loads the ASUS Mobo screen then a black screen with a white Dash appears on the top left side of the screen which keeps flashing and thats it.


What do you think it could be?

plz id appreciate any help :(

It's likely your hard drive. Do you have any install disks? If so, see if you can boot from the install disks. If it loads up the Windows setup program, then the other components of your computer are working and you'll need to see about repairing or replacing the hard drive.

Did it ever boot, for example, under Win7? How did you move to Win8 from another Os (?) assuming you did?

Your CMOS settings need to be reset. Turn off PC, turn of PSU switch, unplug power cord, and pull out the CMOS battery for 2 minutes and reinstall battery then plug everything back in and power up.

do you have any USB storage devices plugged in? you may need to run a FIXMBR. boot up using the windows 8 disk, go to repair, and it is somewhere in the boot setting to repair boot options. i have only done it once on 8 but it is pretty self explanatory where to go to fix it once you boot from the disk.
