Hello,
Ever since I installed windows 8 on my computer I've been getting prompted to start one of 2 OSs. Recently I uninstalled windows 8 thinking that if I did a custom install of windows 7 the problem would be resolved, but I still see windows 7 and windows 8 at the dual boot screen. If I try to start the windows 8 it gives me this error.
"Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert your windows installation disc
and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings and then click "Next."
3. Click "Repair your computer."
If you do not have this disk, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.
File: \$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Windows.NEW\WINDOWS\system32\ winload.exe
Status: 0xc000000f
Info: The application or operating system couldn't be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors."
I can start windows 7 perfectly but this screen is annoying. I tried deleting shadow copies and deleting previous windows installations with disk manager with no success. Does anyone know how I can access this folder and delete it so I don't get this error anymore? This is extremely frustrating.
