Why does windows 8 require me to back after I change or delete a file and then go forward to see the changes I made? Should not the change be seen right away? without going back and forward?

In general, things shouldn't work like that. Can you give me an exact example?

I will make a new folder. That folder will not be displayed. I arrow back and then forward to see "new folder" I will change the name of the folder. will not see the new name. I arrow back ad then forward and see the "new name". I will move a file to a folder and will not see that it has moved until I arrow back and then forward.

I was using a tech support for something at one time and the tech said that is just the way win8 was put together and he hoped it would be changed. Is that true?

Sometimes I have the same problem - i create a file on a folder, and the file is not visible. I have to go Up and Down one level to see the file or to use right click - Refresh. It happens sometimes, sometimes it is not happens.

I have observed that Windows 8 does not always immediately refresh the view on change, you need an F5 or change of focus to initiate the update. Obviously a problem related to the OS that my eventually be resolved.

I see that others have the problem too. Can't suggest anything I think probably would help. You try sfc /scannow if you want. Don't think it will change anything.
